Mary's public statement: March 10, 2026

"Last night’s forum was a great opportunity for our community, and I really loved seeing it well attended. Important topics were discussed, including public safety, infrastructure, economic growth, business development, and city finance. I appreciated that the conversation generated thoughtful and productive discussion about the future of Woodland Park."

Several questions also focused on communication, ethics, and transparency, which are incredibly important principles in public service. I believe the citizens of Woodland Park deserve open communication, thoughtful discussion, and a council that approaches decisions with integrity and respect for the public they serve.

One thing I appreciated about the forum was that, while we may not always agree on every issue, we were able to have meaningful conversations about the topics that matter to our community. That kind of respectful dialogue is exactly what effective leadership requires."

There’s also a very real possibility that all five of us on that stage could soon be serving together on City Council along with our new Mayor. If that happens, I believe our responsibility will be to work collaboratively, listen carefully to one another and to our residents, and focus on the long-term health of Woodland Park.

If we stay focused on respect, collaboration, and the future of Woodland Park, I truly believe our best days as a community are still ahead of us."
